Impossible #2

Monster (Impossible #1) will be available on Amazon within the next 12 hours!  Yay!  To celebrate, I wanted to reveal the title and cover of the second book in the series:

I have been busily working away on Traitor, and it will be released April 12, 2013!  I will post the blurb soon.

If you've been following my blog, I previously announced that the second installment would be Angel, which is Monster from Sean's point of view.  I am still working on this project, but it will be released after Claudia's trilogy is completed.

A note on condoms...

I’ve had a few comments lately about the fact that my characters don’t use condoms, and I just wanted to address this quickly.  Of course, you should ALWAYS use protection when sleeping with someone new, especially if it is a random encounter in a club setting.  My books are fantasy sex.  While I describe the passionate interactions and submissives’ responses as accurately to my own life experiences as possible, I want to impress upon readers that this particular aspect of my books is NOT realistic.  In my mind, my characters are all on birth control (something that I sometimes address) and are either all regularly tested for STDs, or - in an even more fantastical world - STDs don’t exist.  Wouldn’t that be nice?

Okay, so hopefully that’s that cleared up.  In fact, I might start putting this disclaimer in my books just to make sure to get out the message!

Updates and Tidbits...

So I know I've been talking a lot about Monster (Impossible #1) lately.  Sorry if it's getting like a broken record.  The first thing of note: 20 days until its release date!  Yay!

Secondly, I am busily working away on Impossible #2!  The title is Angel, and it is a re-telling of Monster from Sean's point of view.  Here is a little teaser from the blurb:

I almost died that night.  And then what did I do?  I assaulted and terrified the woman who had saved my life.  And then I told her that her life was over, that she could never leave my apartment.  But as much as I knew that she hated me, I couldn’t help being fiercely attracted to her.  The more I got to know her, the more I wanted her.  God, just how fucked up am I?

A sexy little excerpt...

So I've shared the drama of the opening scene of Monster with you (http://juliasykes.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/new-novel-excerpt.html) and a few funny lines (http://juliasykes.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/a-few-lines-from-monster.html).  I think I owe you a hint of erotica.  Here goes:

“Please,” I groaned.  “Sean, please.”  I pressed my hips up into him, grinding against him.

In a move faster than I could comprehend, his mouth left me.  There was a loud crack as his hand came down on my soft flesh.  A burning, stinging sensation bloomed on my breast.  I gasped in shock at the pain.

“I told you to stay still.”  

I stared up at him, wide-eyed.  His expression was hard, forbidding.  I trembled beneath him, torn between fear and intense arousal at his treatment of my body.

“I…  I’m sorry,” I forced out through heaving breaths.

His expression twisted upward into a satisfied smile, one with a slight edge of cruelty to it.  He reached out for me, and I braced myself for further retribution.  But he cupped my face in his large, calloused hand, tracing his thumb lightly across my lips.  My tongue darted out, licking at him tentatively.  He applied pressure, easing his thumb into my mouth.  I swirled my tongue around it, sucking gently.

His green eyes filled with unmistakable lust.  And a hint of wonder.  “Fuck, Claudia,” he breathed.  His cock twitched against me as he hardened impossibly further.  He pulled his thumb from my mouth and leaned into me.  My lips parted for him, ready to accept his kiss.
