What's Coming in 2015

Hi Readers!

What's next for 2015?  TONS of new projects!  I have two BDSM romantic suspense serials planned, two BDSM contemporary romances in the works, my erotic memoir, and at least four more books in the Impossible Series (Clara, Alicia, Dex, and Kennedy will all have their stories told).  Will all of these be finished in 2015?  Probably not.  But each series will be explored through at least one or two books this year.

After writing 356,000 words in 2014, I'm a tad bit exhausted.  I plan on taking it slow for January (if it's possible for me to force myself away from my keyboard), and then hitting it hard again in February.  I'll announce which project I'll be working on next in the very near future!

Thank you so much for being part of a truly wonderful 2014!
Much Love,

Czar Release Delay

***UPDATE: Czar is now available!***

I very much regret to announce that I am pushing back the release date for Czar. This book has hit closer to home than I expected, and while writing it has been cathartic, it brought up more difficulties than I was prepared to face. As a result, the book is just not where I want it to be right now. I want to give y'all the best story possible, and Czar isn't quite there yet.

I previously announced the release date as December 30. I really wanted to get the book out before the New Year, but that is not possible. I am now announcing a tentative release date of January 10. What exactly do I mean by "tentative"? Well, I will have the book out no later than the 10th, but it might come out before that. Because of this delay, I want to get the book in your hands as soon as it is fully edited and ready to go. That might be as early as the 3rd, but I don't want to promise that. What I DO promise is that it will be out by the 10th. Please keep an eye out here, on my facebook, and on twitter for the release announcement. You can also sign up for my newsletter, and you will receive an email as soon as Czar goes live.

Again, I apologize for the delay from the bottom of my heart. I am really looking forward to sharing this dark story with you as soon as it is fully polished and ready to go! Thank you for your understanding.

Much Love,
Julia xxx

Sean's POV is Now Available!

Impossible: The Companion Trilogy is now available!  What can you expect from a "Companion Trilogy"?  We're in Sean's head instead of Claudia's, and let me assure you, it's a broody, alpha, sexy place!  There are new scenes with Bradley, Ronan, Clayton, and even Smith.  There is also a bonus Epilogue catching us up with Sean and Claudia.

Some of you may be familiar with Angel, which is Monster from Sean's POV.  I published this last September, not intending to finish out the rest of the story from his POV.  However, after many requests (and Sean badgering me to do it), I've finished out the Trilogy.  You can now get Angel, Deceiver, and Redeemer all bundled together in Impossible: The Companion Trilogy!

You can find Sean's POV on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and kobo (iTunes coming soon)!  I hope y'all enjoy getting a look into Sean's head!

Synopsis:
My captive is beautiful, cunning, and defiant. The alluring combination pleases the monster in me. I want to conquer that defiance and take possession of her beauty. I crave to claim her innocence and keep it for myself.

But the man I am knows nothing could be more wrong.

I have to decide which is stronger: the monster or the man? Either way, one thing’s for certain. I’m never letting her go.

Much Love,

***

I gave myself one night to fall apart, cry, and put myself together again.  Derek’s words had hurt, and my pride told me I was a fool if I ever threw myself at him again.
But my time with Derek had helped me to see that my pride was a heavy burden, and often a destructive one.  My determination, however, was no less important and no less potent than it had been before I met him.
“Are you sure you want to do this?”  Smith asked, his voice soft with concern.
I knew the Rule Breaker in Chief wasn’t worried about allowing me to accompany him to Decadence against Kennedy’s orders.  He was worried about me getting hurt.
My eyes found his silver ones.  “I can’t say I’m thrilled about doing this in front of you, but it’s the right thing to do.  It’s the only thing to do.  If Derek doesn’t listen to me after this, I don’t think there’s any way for me to get through to him.”
My fierce friend offered me an uncharacteristically gentle smile.  “He doesn’t deserve you, you know.  And if it makes you feel better, I won’t check out your ass.”
“You’d better not check out anything else, either.”
“I make no promises.”
“Smith!”  I slapped him on the arm, and he chuckled.
“I promise I won’t look at you.  Not like that.”  His expression turned more serious.  “I don’t think of you like that, Sharon.  You’re like my very deadly, very hot little sister.  And I’ll kick the ass of anyone who looks at you in a way I don’t like.  You’re safe here with me.”
The words awoke a warm glow in my chest.  The depth of his affection for me was unexpected and more welcome than I could have imagined.  I had always worked so hard to prove I could be one of the guys.  It had never occurred to me that they could value me as anything else.  Smith didn’t view me in the same way he did Clayton, but he still cared about me.
“Thanks,” I whispered.
I glanced around the club, hunting for Derek.  Smith and I stood just inside the entrance, and I had yet to spot him.  I had to get on with this before I lost my nerve.  “It’s now or never,” I mumbled as I toed out of my flats.  Smith would look after them – and my coat – for me.
My fingers clutched at the lapels of my khaki trench coat, twisting in the fabric with a brief shot of nerves.
“Hey.”  Smith gave my arm a little squeeze.  “You’ve got this.”
Taking a deep breath, I nodded and began to undo the five large buttons with trembling fingers.  Cool air hit my midriff when the fabric parted.  It slid over my skin with the coat, making every inch of my flesh pebble as it was revealed.
When I stood in nothing but my see-through black lace bra and panties, I could no longer meet Smith’s eyes.
“You look beautiful.”  There wasn’t a trace of lustful heat my friend’s words, only genuine admiration.  “No matter what happens, I’ll be here for you.”
My first steps away from the safety of Smith were small, hesitant.  My eyes searched the club.  No Derek.  If I couldn’t see him, I would just have to make myself nice and visible.
Calling upon my determination, I embraced its steely kiss, allowing it to cut away my fear and self-consciousness.  I placed one foot in front of the other, and soon I found a steady, confident stride.  Curious stares rolled over my flesh like dozens of little cold marbles.  I allowed myself to find the sensation interesting rather than frightening or repulsive.  If anything, it was… empowering.
Heels clicked along the floor beside me as someone joined me on my short journey to the center of the dungeon.
“Everything okay?”  Clara asked.
“Fine.”  I confirmed simply.  This was none of Clara’s business, and for once I didn’t care to pry into hers.  I was here for Derek, and nothing else.
Content that I was well within the view of everyone who cared to look, I sank down on my knees, positioning myself in the slave pose Derek had taught me.  I settled back on my heels and spread my legs.  My hands rested on my thighs, palms-up.  My head was bowed, my back straight.
Clara was silent above me for a moment, then sighed.  “I’ll go find him for you.”  Her stilettos clicked off, becoming fainter before being swallowed by the pulsing music.
I settled in, keeping my focus inward rather than allowing myself to think about all of the people watching me.  I was dressed as a submissive.  Hell, I was barely dressed in anything at all.  And I had presented my nearly-naked self to dozens of people.
It was my own personal form of penance.  I had never allowed anyone but Derek to see me as a submissive.  I had hidden my submission away in the private rooms.  This was a declaration, an apology he couldn’t ignore.
I hoped.
I recognized his furious footfalls seconds before he reached me.
“What the fuck do you think you’re doing?”  His anger slammed down on me hard enough to make my shoulders slump.
I straightened them within seconds, but I kept my eyes appropriately downcast.  “I’m apologizing, Sir.”
“Get out,” he seethed.  “Put on some goddamn clothes, and get out of my club right now.”
“No.”
No?”  The word was heavy with furious incredulity.  “You don’t get to say no.  That was an order.”
My eyes lifted to his, revealing my defiance.  “Well, I’m not feeling very obedient this evening.  I guess you’ll have to punish me.”
“Get up, Sharon,” he snapped.
I shook my head.  “I told you; I’m not feeling very obedient.”
His jaw ticked and his muscles bulged with his frustration.  He was every bit as shredded up inside as he had been the night before.  My heart ached to see him so tormented.  He needed to find control so badly, but I had hurt him too deeply.  His trust wouldn’t be won back easily.
But there was nothing easy about what I was doing.  I had stripped away my clothes and my pride for him.  If he threw me out, I would be just as destroyed inside as he was now.
“Please, Derek,” I breathed.  “I’m sorry.”
“We are not doing this here,” he ground out, running a frustrated hand through his hair.
“Then where do you want to do it?”  I kept up my implacable façade.  He had to know I wasn’t going to back down from this.
Molten gold churned in his eyes.
“Everywhere,” he growled.  “If you don’t leave now, I’m going to fuck you everywhere, every way.  I’m going to punish every inch of you, inside and out.  So I suggest you get out, before I can’t stop myself.”
Fear and something more delicious stirred low in my belly.
“I don’t want you to stop yourself, Sir,” I whispered tremulously.  He needed this.  I needed it.
Absolution.  I needed his punishment so badly it made my heart hurt.  I needed his forgiveness every bit as much as he needed to punish me for hurting him.
A vicious, hungry rumble vibrated from his chest and through his corded arms as they closed around me.  I closed my eyes in bliss at his touch, and I felt the world tilt.  Air left me in a rush when my abdomen collided with his shoulder.  Blood rushed to my head, and everything turned upside down.  My hair swayed as I began to move
I was slung over Derek’s shoulder.  He was carrying me away from the dungeon, away from the curious eyes watching us.  For a moment, I feared he was going to physically throw me out into the street, but then I recognized the corridor that lead to the private rooms, and relief washed through me.
“Thank you,” I said softly.
“Don’t thank me.  You’ll regret it soon enough.”

Knight Deleted Scene

Hi y'all!

I recently unearthed this deleted sex scene from Knight (An Impossible Novel).  I love it, but it ended up getting cut because there were just *too many* sex scenes in the last third of the book.  This takes place after the *Tucker Incident*, when Lydia and Smith are in the safe house in Chicago.  We get a little bit of sexy Clayton in this scene as well.  Enjoy!

*****
Master didn’t bother to muffle my sharp cry as he drove into me.  He had allowed me a brief respite that afternoon, but he decided to sate his hunger for my body once again after dinner.  We had been taking full advantage of the privacy of the apartment; neither of us had worn a stitch of clothing since breakfast.  I was fairly certain I wouldn’t be able to walk straight for a week, but I didn’t care.
Now, my body was bent over the arm of the couch, Master anchoring me in place for him with one hand gripping my hip and the other snared in my hair.
My heart stopped at the sound of the apartment door clicking open.  I craned my head back to glance around Master’s powerful body.  Clayton was standing in the doorway, his expression betraying nothing more than mild surprise.
“Hey, Clayton,” Master said casually, never stopping his steady thrusting.  “I’m a little busy right now.  I’ll be with you in a while.  There’s beer in the fridge, if you want.”
“Master!”  I protested.  My efforts to squirm out of his grip were laughably ineffective.
I gasped as he gave a sharp jerk on my hair, forcibly redirecting my gaze.
“Eyes forward, sub,” he ordered evenly.
My cheeks burned, and my fingers scrabbled against the cushions as I struggled to escape him, to flee into the bedroom and bury my face in the pillows until my embarrassment subsided.
Stinging pain bloomed across my ass as his hand cracked across it.  Truthfully, it barely hurt, but he had never stuck me before, and the sharp sound was shocking.
His fingers found the curve of my hip again, digging into my flesh as he reinforced my utter helplessness in his strong hold.
I whimpered and stopped fighting, giving in.
“Good girl.”  He tenderly stroked my back, rewarding me for my good behavior.
To my horror, my inner muscles fluttered around him as my embarrassment doubled.  His soft laugh was pure masculine satisfaction.  I could almost feel him taking note of my exhibitionist streak and filing it away for later use.
“I’m still on the clock,” Clayton informed Master.  “I’ll make a Starbucks run while you finish up.  Do you want anything?”
My eyes flew wide at Clayton’s casual remarks.  I had thought he was such a nice guy, but he evidently had no problem playing into Master’s cruel game.
“My usual, please,” Master responded as he reached around and tweaked my pulsing clit.  I couldn’t hold back my humiliating cry of pleasure as I contracted around his cock once again.  My arousal at the situation was undeniable.
No one bothered to ask what I wanted.  It was as though I wasn’t even there.  I was just an object, an amusing diversion for Master’s pleasure.
The thought made my pussy burn hotter than my cheeks.
A strange whine escaped me at the sound of the door clicking closed behind Clayton.
No.  Surely I wasn’t… disappointed that Clayton had left?
Master’s hand stroked me again, soothing this time.  “Don’t worry, girl.  I’ll fuck you in front of Clayton some other time.”  He chuckled as I clenched around him helplessly.  “You would like that, wouldn’t you?  I would too.  I’d like to take my sub to a club and fuck her in front of everyone.  I’ll strap her down and show her off.”  His voice turned rougher, darker.  “Show everyone what’s mine.”
There was pressure against my asshole, and I drew in a sharp breath as his thumb slowly penetrated me.  His fist tightened in my hair, pulling back.  I arched in response, and my ass pushed back to accept more of him without my volition.
“All mine,” he rasped.
“Yes, Master,” I gasped out.  “Yours.”
His low growl was savagely pleased.  He began to pound into me in earnest, his ruthless thrusts alternating with his rapidly pumping thumb.  I flew over the edge with an ecstatic scream, and stars burst across my darkened vision as he came inside me, bellowing out his own pleasure.

Yours, Master.  All yours.

ROGUE Excerpt

Hey y'all!  I'm working on Rogue (An Impossible Novel) now, and I wanted to share an excerpt.  This is one of Sharon and Derek's earliest interactions.  She's an FBI agent going undercover at Derek's BDSM club, Decadence, to scope out the place for drug trafficking by the Latin Kings.  I love their chemistry!

One corner of Derek’s mouth ticked up as he turned his full attention back to me.  With the bar at my back and his large body in front of me, I had the sudden sensation of being trapped.  He was so close that the heat of him teased across my skin.  I shifted my weight on my stool, angling my body away from his in a futile attempt to escape that intoxicating warmth.  His twisted smile became more pronounced.
“I don’t appreciate being labelled as creepy, but I’ll easily admit that I’ve acted like a total ass.  Can I buy you a drink to begin to make it up to you?  I really can play nice.  If that’s what you want.”
The playful spark in his eyes held a darker edge.  That lustful light let me know that he would rather not play nice when it came to me.  And damn it if that knowledge didn’t make an answering darkness coil deep within me.
“As a Dominant, Carter is a master manipulator.  He won’t need to knock you down to get you flat on your back.”  Smith’s warning snaked across my mind, but it didn’t fully douse the unhealthy heat inside me.
Careful, Silverman.
“You’re being creepy again,” I pointed out lightly.  “But I do appreciate a man who can admit when he’s wrong.”
He laughed, a rich, breathtaking sound.  It illuminated his features, wiping away any traces of cocky amusement or frustrated ire.  He looked… free.  His melted caramel eyes were almost boyish in their genuine humor.
“You’re a bit of an ass yourself, you know,” he informed me when his laughter died down to a chuckle.  “Most people aren’t so brazenly impolite, even if the person they’re talking to hasn’t been so nice.”
I shrugged, but I couldn’t hold back my answering smile; his pleasure was infectious.  I might have been offended if it weren’t for the fact that he was right: I had been acting like an ass.  If the accusation had come from Smith, he would have earned himself a slap.  But from Derek, it wasn’t an accusation so much as playful banter.  He made the insult sound like an admiring compliment.
“I prefer the term ‘blunt,’” I told him with a grin.  “Maybe even ‘ballsy,’ if you want to be crass about it.”
“Oh, I can be crass, babe.  I like to talk dirty.”  He winked at me.
“Creep.”  My pointed accusation was ruined by my amused smile.
“Damn.”  He smothered his own smile, doing his best to school his expression into something contrite.  “I promise I can be good.”
His attempt at wide-eyed innocence didn’t suit him at all.  He looked so ridiculous that I couldn’t hold back my laugh, ruining his efforts to keep a straight face.
“Well, if you promise to behave yourself, I guess I will take that drink.”
“I wouldn’t make that promise to anyone else, sugar.  But I’ll make an exception in your case, as a form of penance.  Which is something else I don’t do, by the way.”  He eyed me carefully.  “Maybe Clara’s right; maybe you will make a good Domme.”
The way the lines of his face drew downward let me know that the thought didn’t please him.
I did my best to ignore my unease at having disappointed him.  I didn’t like disappointing people.  It was a reflexive thing, an ingrained response from years spent trying to please my father.
Shaking it off, I grasped at the opportunity to further my mission.
“That’s actually why I came back,” I said quickly.  “I wanted to talk to you about what it takes to be a Dominant.  Even though you pissed me off, you seem to know what you’re talking about, and I want to do this right.  Safe, Sane, Consensual, right?  It’s my job to uphold that.”  My lips took on a wry twist as I added, “No matter how creepy my instructor is.”
Derek’s brows rose in disbelief.  “You want to sub for me to learn how to be a good Domme?”
“Maybe,” I hedged, my fears getting the best of me.  I knew I should accept immediately, but nerves made me shy away from the commitment.  “I’d like to talk about it more before making up my mind about that,” I amended.
He considered me carefully for a moment.  I was struck by the uncomfortable sensation of being pinned in place under his scrutiny.  Did he approve of what he saw?
Stop that!  My entrenched people-pleasing would get me into trouble here if I didn’t focus on holding my own around this man.
Finally, he nodded, and I let out the breath I didn’t know I was holding.
“Okay.  We can talk about it over that drink and then revisit my proposal.  What’s your poison?”  That signature smolder Clara had warned me about threatened to make me melt for him at the mention of his proposal.
Submitting to him.  Shit, I needed a drink.

That's all for now!  I am so excited to share the next story in the Impossible Series with y'all!  Release date TBA soon, but I'm hoping to have it out in a month, tops :).  You can stay updated on Rogue on Goodreads.

Mentor (An Impossible Novella) Excerpt

Curious about Mentor (Impossible #2.5)?  Well, it is certainly my darkest work yet, and it may not be loved by everyone who has enjoyed the Impossible series so far.  Unlike my other stories, Mentor is NOT a romance.  But when trapped in the dark, the blacker shades of lust can be confused for love.

Mentor is about the man we briefly met in Knight and know only as "The Mentor."  It is set in his past, telling the story of his relationship with the first woman he ever abducted.

To give you a taste, here is the Prologue.  This is from The Mentor's point of view, but the majority of the book is from Kathleen's POV.

Prologue
The Mentor
April 20, 1978

I slinked further into the shadows, concealing myself in the darker shades of the night.  My hands trembled as I waited for my victim.  The tremor came not from apprehension or hesitancy, but from anticipation.  Soon the darkness within me would be released, the pressure siphoned off.  She would take my darkness.  I would impart it to her, inflict it upon her.
I would be able to breathe again.
Seeking to still my shaking, I immersed myself in the memory of the first and only time the enigmatic pressure within me had been released.
Screams.  Blood.  Death.
Power.  Freedom.  Absolution.
I realized now that I hadn’t really been alive before that.  The dulling film of perpetual apathy that coated my psyche had dissipated as the light left my father’s eyes, his lifeblood spilling over my hands.  The world became sharp, my senses impossibly heightened.  It was the closest thing to human emotion I had ever experienced.  The pleasure that flooded me was the nearest approximation I could imagine to what normal people called joy.
But now the memory of that hyper-awareness – that sensation of being alive – tormented me as much as it pleased me.
No sooner had I disposed of my father’s body than the sensation began to fade, and the dim monotony of my detached existence began to seep back into me.  Now that I was aware of it, the dimness built, gathering slowly into darkness.  My darkness.
It coiled within me, slithering through my veins and rendering my very pulse sluggish.  It would overcome me, would consume me from the inside out, if it didn’t find release.
Killing again wasn’t an option.  I might not have a formal education, but I wasn’t stupid.  I wasn’t going to leave a trail of bodies behind and risk being caught.
If I kept her with me, she could take my darkness regularly.  I would allow it to consume her rather than me.  I would break her, train her to like it.  Otherwise my darkness would devour her completely, and I would have to find a new toy.  I couldn’t risk drawing attention to myself by taking more than one woman.
Kathleen Marie White wasn’t special to me in any way.  No one was special to me.  I had chosen her because she was convenient and she suited my needs.
Like me, she practically lived at the Hesburgh Libraries at the University of Notre Dame.  She had come here to study for the last four years, and even though I was a few years younger than she, I had been frequenting this place for much longer than that.  I wasn’t a student, but I had always found solace at the library.
The desire to avoid my father, coupled with my disinterest in mundane human interactions, made it an ideal place for me to hide out.  People couldn’t speak here.  The pointless tedium of social pretentiousness was muffled within those walls.
As always, she was the last to leave the library on a Saturday night.  The light of the streetlamp near the entrance caught the reddish facets of her dark hair, crowning her head with a crimson halo for the space of a moment.
My mind conjured up images of how I might draw that crimson shade from her body in other ways.  Something unfamiliar stirred low in my gut in response, and my pulse jumped past its normal tempo.
Interesting.
I had intended to use sexual torment against her.  Sex held little appeal for me; it would simply be a means to an end.  But in that moment, I understood its allure.  When used as a weapon, sex might be pleasurable.  The sudden stiffening of my cock told me as much.
I clenched my fingers into hard fists, willing their increased trembling to stop.
Control.
Control yourself.  Control the darkness.
Soon, I would control her, and the darkness would never rule me again.  I would be alive.  More than that, I would revel in the heady power I had experienced as my father’s life slipped away under my hands.  She would give that to me daily.
She turned from locking the library doors, and I caught sight of her face.  It was lovelier than I had realized.  She wasn’t perfect by conventional standards, but the hint of a contented smile that played around the corners of her mouth gave off a sense of innocence that was undeniably appealing.  Her deep green eyes were large, only further lending to that vision of purity.
When I had watched her over the last four years, her beauty had been obscured by unconscious nervous habits.  Usually, a small furrow persisted between her brows as she bent over a book, and her full lips were thinned while she chewed at a pencil.
I had chosen her for that very reason.  Drive and determination were evident in every line of her body as she studied furiously every day.  She thought she could shape her own destiny if she just worked hard enough.
But her fate was no longer hers to govern.  What she surely considered her greatest assets – her tenacity and intellect – were the very qualities which would lead to her ruination at my hands.
There would have been no satisfaction in breaking a weak woman.  Kathleen Marie White was exactly what I needed.
No, it was more than that.  More than need.
Want.
I wanted something.  The realization was jarring, the sensation utterly new.  My lips curled upward in a semblance of a smile, and my hand was rock steady as I reached into my pocket to retrieve the ether-soaked rag.

I would take what I wanted.

In the Works: Mentor (An Impossible Novella)

Who is the Mentor?

I know I left y'all hanging.  Sorry about that.  This character will continue to feature in the Impossible series, but there are a few more stories to be told first before we can deal with him properly.

Well, He wasn't very happy with that.  There's so much more to him than can be told as a sideline in someone else's romance novel.  So, he is getting his own novella in the meantime.  Mentor (Impossible #2.5) tells the story of his twisted relationship with the first woman he ever abducted.  It's not a romance.  It's a dark mindfuck.

As with all the Impossible stories, Mentor can be read as a standalone, either before or after Knight.  While it won't answer all of your questions, it will give much more insight into this character and his motivations.

I am so excited to share this story!  You can now stay updated on Mentor on Goodreads.  The estimated release date is early April 2014.

Official Impossible Series Reading Order

Further to my previous post, I have resolved to make it easier to discern the Impossible series reading order.  If you already have books from the Impossible series on your ereader, this might cause some confusion.  For that, I deeply apologize.  I had to make an executive decision regarding how best to carry on with the series in a way that is easily understandable.

The original trilogy of novellas that started the series will now be known as The Impossible Trilogy.  You can find this designation on Goodreads.  Here is the reading order for the serial:

Monster (The Impossible Trilogy, Part 1)
Angel (A Companion Book to Monster) (The Impossible Trilogy, Part 1.5)
Traitor (The Impossible Trilogy, Part 2)
Avenger (The Impossible Trilogy, Part 3)

Or get Monster, Traitor, and Avenger in one bundle in Impossible: The Original Trilogy.

The Impossible Novels are a spin-off series from The Impossible Trilogy.  These stories can all be read as standalones, although the characters are connected.  The novels are now classified as the Impossible series:

Savior (Impossible #1)
Knight (Impossible #2)
Rogue (Impossible #3) (Coming Soon!)

I hope this format will keep things much clearer as the Impossible series continues.  Thank you so much to everyone who has muddled through the confusion and read the series!  I can't wait to share more of these characters and their dark stories with you :).

Much Love,

Impossible Series Reading Order

*Please see the latest post on this matter for the Official Impossible Series Reading Order*

It has come to my attention that it is impossible to easily discern the Impossible series reading order.  (See what I did there?  Yeah, I never claimed to be funny.  I'll stick to angst.)  So here's the skinny:  I wrote the original Impossible trilogy as a set of three serialized novellas that told the story of Sean and Claudia's tumultuous romance.  Monster, Traitor, and Avenger were the three installments of the Impossible series.  But then one of my favorite characters (name omitted here to avoid spoilers) from the trilogy wanted his own HEA.  In fact, I loved him so much that I allowed him to survive the trilogy, which wasn't my original intention.  I'm so glad I did, because I love him and all of his crazy, damaged, kinky friends.  They, of course, then demanded their own stories.

This left me in a bit of a quandary.  Is Savior supposed to be Impossible #4?  Well, not really.  It is a complete story arc that can stand alone, not a continuation of Sean and Claudia's story.  My solution was to call Savior an Impossible novel, a spin-off that is set in the same world as the original Impossible trilogy, but that isn't directly connected to Sean and Claudia's story.

The Original Trilogy, Savior, and Knight can each be read as standalones.  The characters are connected, but the story arcs are independent of one another.  If you do want to read them in chronological order, here it is:

Impossible: The Original Trilogy (Monster, Traitor, and Avenger) (Impossible #1-3)
Savior (An Impossible Novel)
Knight (An Impossible Novel)

There you have it.  The official Impossible reading order.  Now I'm about to throw a wrench in it when I publish Rogue, which mostly chronologically takes place between Savior and Knight, but parts of it happen during both of those books.  Maybe I should make some sort of crazy overlapping timeline.

I want to tell these stories based on the immediacy of the characters rather than necessarily sticking to chronology.  Some books will span a time frame that is covered in two or three other books.  All of the characters are connected in some way, but many of them have their own shit raining down on them simultaneously.  Life is messy like that.

After Knight, there are seven more Impossible novels planned, and that number keeps growing all the time.  Generally, the timeline will progress as the books are released, but there will be quite a bit of overlap.  I will endeavor to make it as clear as possible where the books fall chronologically as they are released.

Thanks so much for your support, and for your understanding!  I know this style is a bit unconventional, but I hope that it won't affect your enjoyment of the books.  They are, after all, about each couples' story, not necessarily what's going on with everyone else in the Impossible world at any given time.

I'll keep you posted here on how my crazy brain is working and how the different stories slot into place.

Much Love,
Julia xxx
